25 October 2005 - AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Cell phone sales increasing: surveys.  The world's mobile phone makers are expected to sell more than 800 million units this year, up from earlier estimates of around 775 million handsets, the world's top cell phone market researchers said on Tuesday.

September 2005 - Woosh Wireless announces phone service.  While not currently providing mobile telephone service in New Zealand, their phone over broadband internet service is very interesting.  If you are willing to make the transition, quality phone service and high speed internet access are available at very reasonable rates.

19 September 2005 - Simple Cell Phones Released.  KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce two new  "Simple Cell-phones", in Japan that offer simplicity and convenience for older customers and other people who find cell-phones difficult to use.

8 September 2005 - 2005 Kindler, Gentler Cell Phones - US Business Week.  "There seem to be a lot of people whose needs are not being met by existing wireless offerings, including the elderly, the disabled, and folks who just want an easier way to make and receive calls."

10 August 2005 - Vodafone unleashes 3G mobile revolution on New Zealand.  A revolution in the way New Zealanders can use their mobile phones hit today with the unveiling of 3G enabled services by Vodafone New Zealand...

3G technology brings exciting new wireless standard, promising increased capacity and high-speed data applications.  Included in Vodafone's announcement are internet access, video calling, live music and TV on your phone.
